Monte Erice slopes
The mountain rises steeply beside the district, and its largely unbuilt flanks leave a broad open area on the poster, set against the tight grid of the lower town.

关于地图
Casa Santa Map Poster & Print
Casa Santa is the modern lower part of the comune of Erice in western Sicily. It spreads across the level ground at the foot of Monte Erice, where the medieval hilltop town sits above. Over time Casa Santa has grown into a continuous urban area with the neighbouring city of Trapani, and on a map the boundary between them is hard to see.
The contrast with the mountain is the defining feature. Below, streets of apartment blocks and houses form a fairly regular pattern across the plain. Above, the slopes rise steeply toward the old town, and a cable car links the lower area with Erice at the summit. To the west, Trapani leads out to the sea.
A Casa Santa map poster shows the dense lower town set against the empty rising ground of the mountain. It is a map about the relationship between plain and height, and between a newer district and the ancient town above it.

Merged with Trapani
Casa Santa's streets run into those of Trapani with no clear break, so the map shows one continuous urban fabric stretching from the mountain's foot toward the coast.
Cable car link
A cable car climbs from the lower area to the medieval hilltop town, a single straight line joining the modern plain to the old stone streets at the summit.
