The Val
The ramparts above the Desna form a clear green enclosure at the edge of the centre. Churches and park paths fill the space, which appears on the map as a calm island among streets.

关于地图
Chernihiv Map Poster & Print
Chernihiv is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine, first mentioned in chronicles of the tenth century, and its map still shows the logic of a medieval stronghold. The historic core sits on raised ground above the right bank of the Desna, where earthen ramparts known as the Val enclose a green space with churches from the princely era.
Among these is the Transfiguration Cathedral, begun in the eleventh century and one of the oldest surviving church buildings in the country. Beyond the old centre, a later plan introduced long straight avenues radiating outward, so the modern city spreads in a broad fan, while across the river the Desna's wide floodplain of meadows, oxbow lakes and channels remains largely open.
A Chernihiv map poster brings these layers together: the compact green outline of the Val, the radiating avenues, and the loose, braided water of the Desna beyond. For many, it is also a way of keeping close a city that has endured a great deal and remains deeply important to the people who call it home.

Radial avenues
Main streets spread outward from the centre like spokes, crossed by ring roads further out. The pattern gives the map a strong, legible structure that is easy to read even at small sizes.
Desna floodplain
Across the river the land spreads into meadows, lakes and side channels. In black and white this area becomes a delicate network of water lines against open space.

为什么选Chernihiv
一张有意义的地图
Chernihiv matters to people far beyond the city limits, from those who grew up near the Val to families now living elsewhere in Ukraine or abroad. A precise map of its streets and river is a quiet way to keep a home place visible on the wall every day.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a district, a date or a family name. The poster comes in five styles, including Classic black & white and Paper, as $9 HD files in six sizes or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
