Chiconcuac Map Poster & Print
Chiconcuac is a small municipality in the State of México, just north of Texcoco and east of Mexico City. It is known far beyond its size for its textile trade, especially woollen sweaters and garments. On market days its streets draw shoppers from across the valley.
The town occupies flat ground on the eastern side of the Valley of Mexico, where the waters of Lake Texcoco once reached much further than they do today. Its centre follows a fairly regular pattern of blocks around a church and plaza. Neighbouring towns lie so close that on the map the built-up areas almost merge into one.
