Chinde channel
The river branch on which the town sits carries Zambezi water to the sea. Its wide curves and islands form the most striking shape on the map.

关于地图
Chinde Map Poster & Print
Chinde stands at the mouth of one of the distributary channels of the Zambezi delta, in Mozambique's Zambezia Province. From above, water dominates the setting: river channels split and rejoin, sandbanks shift, and the Indian Ocean coastline runs along the seaward side. The town itself is small next to these forms, a cluster of streets on a narrow strip of land.
In the late nineteenth century Chinde became important as the point where ocean-going ships transferred goods to river steamers heading up the Zambezi and Shire towards what is now Malawi. Britain held a concession here for that purpose. Erosion and storms have hit the coast hard over the years, so the town's shape keeps changing along with the delta.
A Chinde map poster is really a portrait of a delta. The streets form a small, dense focal point, while the braided channels, mudflats and shoreline spread across the sheet in long, sweeping lines. It is an unusual subject for a wall, and it has a strong graphic presence in any of the five styles.

Ocean shoreline
A long shoreline runs along the seaward side of the delta. Its smooth line contrasts with the tangled channels and creeks just inland from the coast.
Delta wetlands
Mangroves, mudflats and minor creeks surround the town. They are drawn as open, lightly lined areas that show how much of this landscape belongs to water.

一张有意义的地图
Chinde appeals to people with family or working ties to the Zambezi delta, and to anyone drawn to river and coastal geography. Give the poster a title of your choice and a subtitle with a date or a line of text, and keep the coordinates as a quiet reference.
Blueprint suits this watery composition especially well, alongside Classic black & white, Noir, Paper and Sand. For $9 you receive six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files with no watermark. A free 900 px preview lets you check the framing first.
