Claremore Map Poster & Print
Claremore lies in Rogers County, northeast of Tulsa, in the rolling country of northeastern Oklahoma. From above, the town is organised around a historic downtown grid near the railroad, with newer neighbourhoods spreading out in larger, looser blocks. Historic Route 66 runs through town on a diagonal, a line many visitors come to trace.
Claremore is best known as the hometown associated with Will Rogers, and the Will Rogers Memorial Museum stands on a hill overlooking the town. Rogers State University has its campus here as well. East of town, Claremore Lake adds an irregular shoreline to the map, while the Verdigris River valley lies to the west.
A Claremore map poster shows a town with clear layers: the railroad grid, the diagonal highway, the campus and the lake. The playwright Lynn Riggs, whose play became the musical Oklahoma, was born nearby, which gives the town a quiet place in American stage history as well as in Route 66 lore.
