Clevedon Map Poster & Print
Clevedon is on the North Somerset coast, looking across the Severn Estuary toward Wales. It developed as a genteel Victorian resort, and the map still shows that character. Terraces and villas line the seafront and the slopes behind it, and a few small hills decide where the streets could go.
Its best-known landmark is Clevedon Pier, opened in 1869 and famously described by John Betjeman as the most beautiful pier in England. Its long, delicate structure makes a fine, thin line reaching into the estuary. Further along, the Marine Lake, a seawater bathing lake refilled by the tide, and the Poet's Walk around the headland complete the shoreline.
Inland, the town gives way to newer housing and then to the M5 motorway along its eastern side. A Clevedon map poster frames all of this at once, from the pier and promenade to the hills. Beyond them lies the open water of an estuary known for one of the largest tidal ranges in the world.
