Coishco Map Poster & Print
Coishco is a coastal town in the Ancash region of Peru, just north of the port city of Chimbote. It sits on the dry Pacific coast, where desert meets the sea and the only green comes from irrigated valley land. On the map, the town is a compact block of streets close to the shoreline, with open, empty ground around it.
The layout is practical, with streets set out in mostly straight rows, typical of towns that grew quickly around coastal industry. Fishing and fish processing have long been central to this stretch of coast, and the shoreline is the defining edge of the map, a clean line that separates the grid of the town from the ocean.
