关于地图
Colomadu Map Poster & Print
Colomadu is a district of Karanganyar Regency in Central Java, although it is separated from the rest of the regency and lies directly next to the city of Surakarta, also called Solo. On a map it reads as part of Solo's wider urban area: a fine mesh of small streets and kampung lanes, interrupted by larger roads and the open space of former sugar-cane land.
Its best-known landmark is the Colomadu sugar factory, founded in 1861 by Mangkunegara IV, ruler of the Mangkunegaran principality. After decades out of use, the mill was restored and reopened in 2018 as De Tjolomadoe, a cultural and events venue that keeps its old machinery. Adi Soemarmo International Airport lies just to the northwest, its runway a strong straight line on the map.
A Colomadu map poster shows the transition between the dense streets of Solo, the open grounds of the old sugar mill and the long runway beyond. In black and white, the mix of intimate lanes and large industrial and transport shapes makes a layered and unusual portrait of a suburban Javanese district.

Airport runway
Adi Soemarmo International Airport lies just northwest of the district, and its long runway forms one of the boldest lines on the poster.
Kampung lanes
Narrow residential lanes fill much of Colomadu, creating a dense, finely detailed texture that continues seamlessly into the streets of Surakarta.
