Concord Map Poster & Print
Concord fills a broad, flat valley in central Contra Costa County. Seen from above, it is a patchwork of suburban grids set at slightly different angles, each one reflecting when that neighbourhood was laid out. Freeways and the BART line cut across it on long diagonals, and the arterial roads form a coarse mesh of large blocks filled with curving residential streets.
Downtown centres on Todos Santos Plaza, a square park surrounded by an older, tighter street pattern than the rest of the city. To the southeast the land rises toward Mount Diablo, and the streets thin out into looping cul-de-sacs along the slopes. To the north, the former Concord Naval Weapons Station leaves a wide, nearly empty tract between the city and Suisun Bay.
A Concord map poster captures that mix of order and sprawl. Creek channels such as Walnut Creek run through the grid as thin threads, and the regional parks on the edges give the composition open space. It is a portrait of a typical Bay Area suburb, drawn precisely enough that residents will find their own street.
