Corbélia Map Poster & Print
Corbélia is a municipality in western Paraná, not far from Cascavel, on the high, gently rolling plateau that is one of Brazil's great grain regions. The town was planned and settled in the mid-twentieth century as farmers moved west. It shows: the centre is a clear checkerboard of streets, with wide avenues and blocks of even size.
Around the town, the landscape is dominated by large mechanised farms. From above, fields appear as broad polygons separated by lines of trees along streams, farm roads and highway corridors. Soy and corn alternate through the year, and the grain storage and cooperative facilities near town are part of the same working picture.
A Corbélia map poster contrasts the fine grid of the town with the wide, open shapes of the farmland. The streams that cross the plateau add thin, winding lines of tree cover, while roads head off in straight lines toward neighbouring towns. It is an orderly, calm image of the agricultural interior of southern Brazil.

Narrow bands of riverside vegetation follow small streams across the plateau. These are the only winding lines in a landscape of straight edges.
