关于地图
Cubatão Map Poster & Print
Cubatão sits on a narrow strip of lowland between the Serra do Mar escarpment and the estuary behind Santos. From above, the land changes sharply. To the north and west, dense forested slopes rise almost straight up. To the south, mangroves and winding tidal channels spread toward the coast. The town and its industry fill the flat ground in between, cut through by the Cubatão River and its tributaries.
It is one of Brazil's major industrial centres, with a large oil refinery and a steel works among its plants. In the 1980s, severe air pollution gave it the nickname Valley of Death, and the environmental recovery since then has become a well-known case study. On the map, the industrial sites appear as big rectangular blocks, very different from the smaller residential grid.
A Cubatão map poster also shows the highways linking São Paulo to the coast. The Anchieta and Imigrantes roads come down the escarpment in long bends, tunnels and viaducts, drawing strong curves across the upper part of the sheet. Few places show so clearly where mountain, industry and estuary meet.

Industrial blocks
Refinery and steel-works sites form large rectangles of tanks, sidings and service roads, with a much coarser pattern than the residential streets beside them.
Mangrove channels
South of the town, tidal creeks loop through the mangroves toward the Santos estuary, a soft, irregular edge that sets off the hard industrial geometry.

为什么选Cubatão
一张有意义的地图
Cubatão is a place people work in, grew up in or pass through on the way down to the coast, and its map carries that sense of a working landscape. It makes an unusual poster for anyone who likes industrial forms and a strong natural setting.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a year that matters to you, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. For $9 you get 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in six sizes, or you can order a matte print.
