Culleredo Map Poster & Print
Culleredo lies immediately south of A Coruña, in Galicia, and much of its population lives in settlements that have grown into the city's suburbs. The municipality is spread out rather than centred on a single town, with several parishes and built-up areas linked by roads through a landscape of low hills, woodland and pasture typical of the Galician coast.
Its most distinctive geographic feature is water. The river Mero widens into the inlet known as the ría do Burgo, and the old crossing at O Burgo, with its historic bridge, is one of the long-standing points of the area. On a map the estuary cuts a clear, curving channel through the northern part of the municipality, separating neighbourhoods and giving the print a strong natural line.
Culleredo is also home to Alvedro, A Coruña's airport, whose single runway lies on a plateau in the municipality and forms a long, precise rectangle on the map.
