Dormagen Map Poster & Print
Dormagen lies on the left bank of the Rhine, between Cologne and Düsseldorf. From above, the river forms the town's eastern boundary with a wide curve, while fields and woodland open up to the west. The town is made up of several districts spread across the flat land, connected by main roads and the railway that runs parallel to the river.
One district, Zons, still has much of its medieval wall, towers and castle, and it is one of the best-preserved fortified towns on the Lower Rhine. On the other side of the town, a large chemical park along the river has been a major employer for more than a century. The former Knechtsteden Abbey stands among fields to the west.
A Dormagen map poster places the Rhine at the edge of the frame, with the compact walled shape of Zons, the large industrial blocks and the residential districts arranged along the river. It is a map of contrasts, old and industrial, dense and open, well suited to a clean black-and-white print.
