Draveil Map Poster & Print
Draveil lies in the Essonne department, about twenty kilometres south of Paris, on the right bank of the Seine. The map shows a commune defined by two large natural areas: the river along its western edge, with ponds and leisure grounds beside it, and the Forêt de Sénart covering much of the eastern side. The streets fill the space between, in a mix of old village lanes and later suburbs.
The Port-aux-Cerises leisure base occupies former gravel pits along the Seine, now a chain of ponds, paths and sports grounds. Draveil also has Paris-Jardins, a garden-city cooperative founded in the early twentieth century in the grounds of a former château, with curving streets among trees. The commune's past includes the 1908 strike at the Draveil-Vigneux gravel pits, a notable episode in French labour history.
A Draveil map poster works because of its contrasts. The Seine traces a clean edge on one side, the forest opens a large empty area on the other, and between them the street pattern shifts from the older centre to the green, curving roads of Paris-Jardins and newer housing. Across the river, the neighbouring communes add a second band of streets.

The forest covers a large part of the eastern side, appearing as a wide open area crossed by long straight forest roads and paths.
Paris-Jardins
This early garden-city estate has curving, tree-lined roads set within a former château park, a distinct pattern that differs clearly from the surrounding streets.
