Everett lies just north of Boston, across the Mystic River from Charlestown, and covers only a small area. On the map it is almost entirely built up: a dense mesh of residential streets filling the land between Somerville, Malden, Revere and Chelsea, with only a few parks and playing fields breaking the pattern.
The southern edge of the city is shaped by the Mystic River and its industrial waterfront, where the Encore Boston Harbor resort opened in 2019 on a former industrial site. Railway lines and major roads cross the city, forming strong corridors through the residential grid, while Broadway serves as the main north–south street through the centre.
An Everett map poster captures a classic inner-suburban pattern of the Boston area: tightly packed streets, main arteries and a working waterfront along the river. In black and white, the density of the blocks and the broad curve of the Mystic give the composition a strong contrast between fine detail and open water.
