Faizpur Map Poster & Print
Faizpur is a town in Jalgaon district, in the Khandesh region of northern Maharashtra. It lies on the plain of the Tapi basin, with the Satpura range forming a long line of hills on the northern horizon. The town is compact, with an older centre of narrow streets and newer areas growing along the roads to neighbouring towns.
Faizpur has a notable place in India's independence movement. In 1936 it hosted a session of the Indian National Congress, the first held in a rural setting rather than a large city. Today the surrounding countryside is intensively farmed. This part of Jalgaon district is known for growing bananas, which cover much of the land around the town.
