关于地图
Farrukhābād Map Poster & Print
Farrukhābād lies near the Ganges in western Uttar Pradesh, and together with neighbouring Fatehgarh it forms a twin city. The map shows two quite different textures: the old town with its dense, winding lanes and bazaars, and the cantonment side with a more open, regular layout. The river runs to the east, broad and braided, with sandbanks that shift with the seasons.
The city was founded in the early eighteenth century by the Nawab Muhammad Khan Bangash and named after the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar. It has long been known for hand block printing on textiles, a craft still practised in local workshops, and Fatehgarh is home to army regimental centres.
A Farrukhābād map poster brings together town and river. The tight old core reads as a dark, finely patterned area; railway lines and main roads link it with Fatehgarh; and the Ganges fills the eastern side of the frame with wide, pale channels. It is a composition that reflects a long relationship between a settlement and a sacred river.

Old town lanes
The historic centre is a dense network of narrow, irregular lanes around markets, producing the finest and darkest texture on the poster.
Twin city layout
Farrukhābād and Fatehgarh sit side by side, the old town and the more spacious cantonment linked by roads and rail across the map.
