Fārsān Map Poster & Print
Fārsān lies in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, high in the central Zagros mountains of western Iran. The town sits in an upland valley at considerable altitude. On the map, the surrounding terrain is the main feature: long ridges and folds of the Zagros hem in the flat ground where the streets are built.
The province is the historic homeland of the Bakhtiari, whose seasonal migrations with their herds crossed these mountains for generations. Fārsān is a local centre for the surrounding farming villages, and the fields around it follow the valley floor between the slopes.
A Fārsān map poster shows a compact grid of streets framed by empty upland. Main roads lead out along the valley towards neighbouring towns and Shahrekord, and village tracks branch into the hills. In black and white, the town looks like a small, orderly island within a large landscape.
