Great Bitter Lake shore
The eastern side of the map is dominated by the lake, a wide, smooth surface that becomes a strong block of tone in black and white and frames the town's long shoreline.

关于地图
Fāyīd Map Poster & Print
Fāyīd sits on the western edge of the Great Bitter Lake, the broad saltwater basin that the Suez Canal passes through roughly midway between Port Said and Suez. On a map the town reads as a thin settlement pinned between open water and dry ground. Its streets run roughly parallel to the shore and thin out quickly as the desert takes over to the west.
Much of the area's twentieth-century story is tied to the canal. During the British presence in the Canal Zone, Fāyīd hosted a large military base and airfield, and traces of that era still shape land use around the town. Today it is better known for lakeside beaches and holiday chalets, and for the ships that move slowly across the lake on their way between two seas.
The Fāyīd map poster keeps that contrast simple: a pale sheet of water on one side, a fine mesh of streets and roads on the other, and the shipping channel implied just beyond the frame. It is a spare composition, which suits a place defined less by monuments than by the line where the water ends and the land begins.

Shore-parallel streets
Streets follow the line of the coast rather than a formal grid, so the settlement appears as a narrow ribbon of blocks that stretches along the water instead of spreading inland.
Desert edge
West of town the street network stops abruptly. The empty ground reads as clean negative space, which makes the built area look sharper and more deliberate on the sheet.

为什么选Fāyīd
一张有意义的地图
People who served, worked or holidayed on the Suez Canal often remember the Bitter Lakes more clearly than any single building. A map of Fāyīd captures that memory in lines: the lakefront, the roads toward Ismailia and Suez, and the quiet edge where the town gives way to sand.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a year or a family name, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital version is $9 for HD files in six sizes. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
