关于地图
Franklin Square Map Poster & Print
Franklin Square is a hamlet in the Town of Hempstead, in western Nassau County on Long Island, a short distance east of the Queens border. It is unincorporated, defined for census purposes rather than by its own government, yet on a map it has a clear character: small, regular residential blocks packed edge to edge, lined with single-family houses on narrow lots.
Hempstead Turnpike runs east–west through the hamlet as its commercial spine, lined with shops and restaurants, while the rest of the area is almost entirely residential. Franklin Square grew rapidly after the Second World War, when former farmland was divided into lots for families moving out from New York City, a history visible in the uniformity of its streets.
A Franklin Square map poster is a portrait of classic postwar suburbia. The blocks form a dense, even texture, interrupted only by school grounds, small parks and the straight line of the turnpike. Framed a little wider, it shows how the hamlet merges with its neighbours without visible gaps, a single continuous fabric of streets stretching across western Long Island.

Postwar blocks
Short, regular blocks of single-family lots cover almost the entire area, creating a fine, even grid that reads clearly in black and white.
Seamless neighbours
Franklin Square blends into the surrounding hamlets with no break in the streets, so the map shows a continuous suburban pattern rather than an isolated town.

为什么选Franklin Square
一张有意义的地图
Franklin Square is the kind of place where families stay for generations, and a map of it records the street where someone grew up or bought a first home. It is a thoughtful gift for parents downsizing or for children who have moved away.
Personalise the title with a family name or street, add a subtitle and a date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes 18×24″ and 24×36″ along with four metric sizes.
