Prison footprint
The prison complex is one of the largest single shapes on the map. Its regular, walled layout contrasts sharply with the irregular residential streets around it.

关于地图
Fresnes Map Poster & Print
Fresnes is in the Val-de-Marne department, a few kilometres south of the Paris périphérique. On a map it is part of the continuous urban area around the capital, so its edges run into neighbouring communes with no obvious break. Inside those edges the fabric is mixed. Older streets and detached houses sit beside the larger footprints of postwar housing estates.
The town is widely known for the Fresnes prison, one of the largest in France, which takes up a big, geometric site on the plan. Major roads run close by, including the A86 ring motorway that connects the inner suburbs. They add heavy lines to the edge of an otherwise fine-grained street pattern.
A Fresnes map poster shows the texture of the petite couronne, the ring of inner suburbs around Paris. Small curved streets sit next to straight arterial roads, with the occasional park and sports ground as open space. It is less about monuments and more about how a close-in suburb really fits together, drawn as a clean black-and-white plan.

Motorway edge
Heavy road corridors run near the town, part of the network that links the Paris suburbs. On the poster they form bold lines at the margins of the finer street grid.
Mixed housing fabric
Detached houses on winding streets sit beside large apartment blocks set in open ground. The result is a patchwork of fine and coarse textures across the commune.

为什么选Fresnes
一张有意义的地图
Fresnes is somewhere people have grown up, raised children and commuted into Paris from. A map of its streets marks that everyday geography more honestly than a picture of the Eiffel Tower would.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download print-ready PDFs and 300 DPI PNGs for $9, or order a matte print from a partner in Europe.
