Street toward Fuji
The central shopping street runs straight toward the mountain. The view is famous in photographs, and on the map it reads as a strong axis through the older town.

关于地图
Fujiyoshida Map Poster & Print
Fujiyoshida lies on the northern slope of Mount Fuji, in the Fuji Five Lakes area of Yamanashi Prefecture. The ground rises steadily toward the mountain. From above, the streets stretch in long lines up the slope, and the built area thins into forest on the volcano's lower flanks.
The town has long been a starting point for pilgrims climbing Fuji. The Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine marks the traditional beginning of the Yoshida route. On the hillside above town stands the five-storey Chureito Pagoda. Framed against the mountain, it has become one of the most photographed views of Fuji in Japan.
A Fujiyoshida map poster shows a town organised around a single, dominant presence. The main street points toward the mountain, and the rail line and highways follow the lower ground. The Fuji Five Lakes lie close by. Even in pure linework, the sense of slope and direction comes through clearly.

Shrine forest
The wooded grounds of the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine form a green block at the upper edge of town. The shrine is the traditional gateway to the Yoshida climbing trail.
Arakurayama hillside
Arakurayama Sengen Park, home of the Chureito Pagoda, rises above the town. Its paths and long flights of steps show as fine lines on the slope.
