关于地图
Getafe Map Poster
Getafe lies on the flat plain south of Madrid. From above, it is a compact urban area with a historic core of short, irregular streets, surrounded by denser apartment blocks and then by wide industrial estates. Motorways and rail lines to Andalusia and Toledo pass through or next to it. On the western side, the long runway of an air base and aircraft factory forms a strong straight line on the map.
Aviation has shaped Getafe since the early 20th century, and today the aerospace industry is still an important part of the town. The main campus of Carlos III University of Madrid is also here. To the south-east rises the Cerro de los Ángeles, a small hill traditionally described as the geographical centre of the Iberian Peninsula. A large monument to the Sacred Heart stands on top of it.
A Getafe map poster shows a hard-working, well-connected city. The historic centre, the housing blocks and the industrial estates are drawn at different scales, the airfield is a single straight stroke and the hill rises out of open fields. In monochrome, the change from fine to coarse grain across the town is very clear. It is a strong image for anyone connected to Getafe through work, study or family.

为什么选Getafe
一张有意义的地图
Getafe is where many people study, work in the aerospace industry or grow up close to Madrid. A map of it is a reminder of those years, and of the streets between the station, the campus and home.
