Goaso sits in the forested west of Ghana and serves as the capital of the Ahafo Region, created in 2019 when the former Brong-Ahafo Region was divided. From above, the town reads as a modest cluster of streets where regional roads meet, with the built area thinning quickly into farmland and tree cover. It is a place defined more by its setting than by any grand plan.
On a black-and-white map, that setting becomes the story. The central streets form a loose, irregular knot, and the routes leading out stretch like threads toward neighbouring towns. Between them, the rendering leaves wide quiet spaces where the land is given over to cultivation. The contrast between a small dense core and open surroundings gives the composition a calm, almost diagrammatic balance.
