关于地图
Grenoble Map Poster & Print
Grenoble occupies a remarkably flat valley floor surrounded by three mountain massifs: the Chartreuse to the north, the Vercors to the west and the Belledonne to the east. On a map the city fills the plain almost edge to edge, and the mountains appear as blank space pressing in from every side. The Isère River curves along the north of the centre, with the Drac joining from the south.
Above the old town, on the Isère's north bank, the Bastille fortress sits on a steep spur, reached by the cable car with its spherical cabins. Grenoble hosted the 1968 Winter Olympics and is home to a large university and major research institutions, with the main campus spreading across the eastern suburbs. The writer Stendhal was born here.
A Grenoble map poster shows a city defined entirely by its setting: two rivers, a flat, closely built plain and mountains closing the view. The long bend of the Isère and the triangular shape of the valley make the city instantly recognisable, and the stark difference between dense streets and empty slopes gives a very striking black-and-white image.

Bastille spur
The fortified hill rises directly above the river, marked on the map by zigzag paths and the cable-car line linking it to the quays.
University campus
East of the centre, the large campus at Saint-Martin-d'Hères forms a wide, open area of buildings and green spaces beside the Isère.

为什么选Grenoble
一张有意义的地图
Grenoble attracts researchers, students and climbers, and many of them leave with a strong attachment to the valley. A map poster of the rivers and the surrounding ranges is an elegant way to remember years spent between the mountains.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a thesis, a move or a favourite neighbourhood. The design is available in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as HD files or a printed poster.
