Gryazovets Map Poster & Print
Gryazovets is a town in Vologda Oblast, in the forested north of European Russia, roughly an hour's drive south of Vologda. It stands on the Rzhavka, a small river, and developed around a station on the railway running north from Yaroslavl. On the map, the railway line and the town's main streets form its basic frame.
The centre is arranged in a simple, regular pattern of blocks, with low-rise houses and gardens extending outward to the edges. Beyond them, the map breaks into fields, woodland and scattered villages, typical of the Vologda countryside. The federal highway toward Arkhangelsk passes nearby, adding another long line to the composition.
