Planned grid centre
The heart of Hadjout is a regular grid of straight streets and rectangular blocks. On the poster it reads as a neat, ordered pattern at the centre of the frame.

关于地图
Hadjout Map Poster & Print
Hadjout lies in Tipaza Province in northern Algeria, a short distance inland from the Mediterranean coast and the Roman ruins at Tipaza. It sits at the western end of the Mitidja, the broad agricultural plain that stretches behind Algiers. During the colonial period the town was known as Marengo, and much of its present street plan dates from that time.
The map shows a clear, rectilinear centre: straight streets crossing at right angles and forming even blocks around a central axis. This kind of planned layout is common to settlements founded on the plain in the nineteenth century. Newer neighbourhoods extend beyond the core in less regular patterns, and around them the land opens into fields, orchards and farm roads.
A Hadjout map poster works well because that original grid is so easy to read. In black and white it becomes a precise, almost architectural drawing set against the looser shapes of the surrounding countryside. It is a fitting piece for families from the town and for anyone who knows the road between the Mitidja and the coast.

The Mitidja plain
Flat, fertile land surrounds the town and extends east toward Algiers. Long straight roads cross it, and fields divide it into shapes that fade toward the edges of the map.
Close to the coast
The town is only a short drive from Tipaza and the sea. The main roads leading north show how closely Hadjout is linked to the coast.

为什么选Hadjout
