Highbury Map Poster & Print
Highbury lies in the London Borough of Islington, north of the City. On the map it is a close weave of Victorian terraces and garden squares, with Highbury Fields providing the largest open space: a long, green area just north of Highbury Corner. The main roads and railway lines around Highbury & Islington station frame the neighbourhood's southern edge.
For many people, Highbury means football. Arsenal played at the Highbury stadium from 1913 to 2006, before moving to the Emirates Stadium nearby. The old ground was turned into flats, called Highbury Square, and the famous Art Deco East and West stands were kept as part of the development, around a garden where the pitch used to be.
A Highbury map poster places all of this in a single frame: the regular terraced streets, the open rectangle of the fields, the former stadium's footprint and the busy junction at Highbury Corner. It is a detailed but orderly piece of London, well suited to a monochrome print.
