River valley
The São João River winds through the lower part of town. Its course sets the orientation of the centre and the main roads that follow it.

关于地图
Itaúna Map Poster & Print
Itaúna lies in the hills of Minas Gerais, about an hour's drive west of Belo Horizonte. From above, its streets follow the terrain rather than a strict grid, bending around slopes and climbing from the river valley towards higher neighbourhoods.
The town is known for its metalworking industry, particularly foundries, which grew up here thanks to the iron-rich region around it. The name comes from Tupi and is usually explained as black stone, a reference to that same iron ore.
The São João River runs through the town and shapes its lower districts. An Itaúna map poster shows a typical Minas town: a historic centre near the river, streets rising in curves across hillsides, and green valleys beyond.

Hillside streets
Many neighbourhoods climb the slopes around the valley, with streets that curve and switch back. On paper they form a lively, irregular pattern.
Industrial edges
Foundries and industrial areas sit on the outskirts. Their larger blocks and access roads contrast with the fine grain of residential streets.

为什么选Itaúna
一张有意义的地图
Itaúna is home to generations of families linked to its industry and university, and to many who later moved to Belo Horizonte or beyond. A map of its hills and river is a meaningful piece for them.
Add a title and subtitle, perhaps a neighbourhood or a date, and keep the coordinates line. Paper gives the hills a warm tone. Noir makes the river and winding streets stand out.
