Fort on Trikuta
The ramparts form a compact, irregular triangle filled with alleys too narrow for cars. It is the densest area of the poster and its visual centre.

关于地图
Jaisalmer Map Poster & Print
Jaisalmer has one of the most recognisable outlines in India. A triangular hill called Trikuta rises from the plain, and on it sits a fort with a ring of close-set bastions around a maze of narrow lanes. Below the ramparts the old town fans out in more crooked streets, and beyond that the lines thin into open desert.
The fort was founded in the twelfth century by the Bhati Rajput ruler Rawal Jaisal. People still live inside it, which is rare, and it is part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan UNESCO World Heritage listing. The yellow sandstone used across the city gave Jaisalmer its name, the Golden City, although a black-and-white print shows only its form.
A Jaisalmer map poster brings out the contrast between the fort's enclosed knot of streets and the looser town around it. To the southeast, the Gadisar reservoir adds a single bright shape of water in the dry landscape. For centuries it supplied the city, and it still anchors that edge of the map.

Old town lanes
Below the fort, lanes that twist between merchant havelis spread out in every direction. Their streets never quite line up and have little to do with modern planning.
Gadisar Lake
This historic reservoir, lined with ghats and small shrines, is the one body of water in view. It stands out sharply against the desert plain around it.

为什么选Jaisalmer
一张有意义的地图
Many people remember Jaisalmer as the furthest point of a trip across Rajasthan, the place where the road meets the dunes. A map of its fort and lanes keeps that memory without falling back on a sunset photograph.
Sand suits the city's stone and Noir suits desert nights, and Classic black & white, Paper and Blueprint are also available. You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates. Order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download the $9 files.
