Downtown rail grid
The historic centre grew around the railroad junction, and its short blocks sit at an angle to the tracks. It is the densest part of the map and the easiest place to find your bearings.

关于地图
Johnson City Map Poster & Print
Johnson City started as a railroad depot in the northeast corner of Tennessee, and the rail lines still cut diagonally across the old downtown. That downtown is a small, tight grid. Around it, newer streets curve along the hills, bending to follow creeks and ridgelines. Interstate 26 runs through the city in a long sweep before heading on into the mountains towards Asheville.
Johnson City is one of the Tri-Cities, together with Kingsport and Bristol. It is also home to East Tennessee State University, whose campus appears on the map as a large patch of quads and paths west of the centre. To the south, Buffalo Mountain rises as a forested block with almost no streets on it.
A Johnson City map poster shows the terrain behind the town's growth. Streets crowd into the valleys and leave the slopes empty. The straight line of the Tweetsie Trail, built on an old rail bed, heads east towards Elizabethton.

ETSU campus
East Tennessee State University fills a wide area of buildings, lawns and loop roads. On the page it looks noticeably more open than the residential streets around it.
Buffalo Mountain
South of the city, the mountain forms a large empty shape edged by streets that stop where the slope gets too steep. It frames the southern part of the poster.

为什么选Johnson City
一张有意义的地图
The poster suits ETSU graduates, families who have lived for generations in the Tennessee hills, and anyone who moved to the Tri-Cities for work and came to love the view of the ridges. It works well as a housewarming gift for a first home in town.
You can set the title and subtitle to a street name, a graduation year or a wedding date, and adjust the coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint or the warmer Sand.
