Highway through town
The Masaka road is the main axis of the map. It is a single strong line, with the town's commercial plots gathered on both sides and smaller streets leading off toward homes and farms.

关于地图
Kalisizo Map Poster & Print
Kalisizo sits in the green, rolling country of southern Uganda, on the main road that runs from Masaka toward the Tanzanian border. On a map the road gives the town its shape. A line of plots and short side streets forms a spine, and the built-up area soon thins into scattered homesteads, gardens and banana plantations along the surrounding slopes.
Around the centre the land rises and falls in low hills. The paths and murram roads follow the contours rather than a grid, so the outskirts look loose and organic when drawn in black and white. Low ground between the hills is left mostly free of streets, and these open spaces make clear gaps in the network of lines.
Kalisizo serves the farming communities around it, with a hospital, schools and a market that draw people in from the countryside. A Kalisizo map poster keeps that everyday geography: the long road through town, the lanes branching off it and the quiet ground of the hills between them. It is a small place, and the map shows it at a scale where each street can be read.

Hill country
Low hills surround Kalisizo, and the roads bend around them. On the poster this gives the outskirts a loose pattern of curving tracks and open ground that contrasts with the straight highway.
Open valley floors
Between the hills, low-lying ground has few streets. These pale areas break up the network and give the composition space to breathe around the small centre.
