关于地图
Kangsŏn Map Poster & Print
Kangsŏn lies in South Pyongan province in North Korea, on the low ground between the capital Pyongyang and the port of Nampho. The landscape is largely flat, with the Taedong River basin nearby. On a map the town is shaped less by nature than by industry: large rectangular works compounds, rail sidings and wide, straight roads that link it to the neighbouring cities.
The town is best known for its steel complex, now known as the Chollima Steel Complex. It is closely associated with the Chollima movement of the late 1950s, a campaign for rapid industrial production named after a mythical winged horse. Much of what is known about Kangsŏn beyond this comes from maps and aerial imagery.
A Kangsŏn map poster reads as a study in planned, industrial form. Housing blocks are laid out in orderly rows, the steelworks occupies a large share of the area, and rail lines run in long curves toward the factories. For anyone interested in urban planning or the geography of the Korean peninsula, it is a distinctive and unusual subject.

为什么选Kangsŏn
一张有意义的地图
Kangsŏn appeals to people drawn to industrial landscapes, planned cities and places that are rarely seen. As a map, it becomes a graphic, almost architectural print, interesting precisely because its form tells so much about how it was built.
