Ridge-top roads
Roads follow the crests of hills, curving with the land. They create long, sinuous lines that give the poster its main rhythm.

关于地图
Karambi Map Poster & Print
Karambi lies in Rwanda's Western Province, in the steep highland country that falls toward the eastern shore of Lake Kivu. This is a landscape of ridges, terraced slopes and narrow valleys, where settlements follow the high ground and roads wind to stay on workable gradients. On a map, the pattern is organic and flowing rather than gridded.
The built area is scattered rather than concentrated. Homes and small clusters sit along ridge roads, with farmland and tree plantations on the slopes between them. Valley floors are marked by streams draining toward the lake. The result is a map drawn almost entirely by terrain, with lines that curve, fork and double back.
A Karambi map poster turns that highland geography into a fluid, graphic image, a map that reads almost like a contour drawing. It suits people from western Rwanda and anyone who has travelled the hills near Lake Kivu and wants to remember them in a quieter form than a photograph.

Stream valleys
Narrow valleys between the ridges carry small streams toward the lake. They appear as fine lines that separate one hillside from the next.
Scattered settlement
Instead of one dense centre, homes spread along roads and slopes. The map has an even, open texture across the whole frame.
