Mountain spine
A continuous ridge runs down the length of the island. Roads cross it in tight curves, so the street layout reads almost like a relief map of the mountains.

关于地图
Karpathos Map Poster & Print
Karpathos is the second-largest island of the Dodecanese, lying in the open sea between Rhodes and Crete. It is long and narrow, running roughly north to south, with a mountain spine that divides the island along almost its whole length. The main town and port, Pigadia, sits on a wide bay on the southeast coast, where most ferries and most of the island's daily life are concentrated.
The north of the island is wilder and more thinly settled than the south. Its best-known village, Olympos, is built along a ridge high above the sea and is famous for preserving an old dialect, traditional dress and customs that faded long ago elsewhere in Greece. Off the northern tip, the islet of Saria is separated from Karpathos by only a narrow strait.
A Karpathos map poster shows how strongly the terrain shapes everything. The roads climb and wind to cross the central ridge, the villages sit on slopes and in small valleys, and the coastline alternates between sheltered coves and steep drops. In black and white, the island becomes a slim, sculptural form set in the open Aegean.

Pigadia bay
The main town wraps around a broad bay in the southeast. Its denser grid of streets is the largest built-up area on the map.
Saria strait
At the northern end, a narrow channel separates Karpathos from the uninhabited islet of Saria, giving the island a split tip.

为什么选Karpathos
一张有意义的地图
Karpathos draws people who return every summer, families with roots in its villages, and walkers who know its mountain paths. The long, narrow shape makes an unusually elegant print, particularly in a tall portrait format that follows the island from end to end.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a village name or a wedding date, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand and Paper sit well with the island's dry, stony landscape.
