Kathhāra Map Poster & Print
Kathhāra is a town in Bokaro district in Jharkhand, part of the coalfield country of the Damodar valley region. The town grew around coal mining and processing, and from above its plan shows that history clearly. Neat rows of housing colonies sit beside industrial sites, rail lines and broad areas of mine workings, all set in undulating, partly wooded land.

Company housing forms tidy grids and parallel rows, while older settlements between them follow roads and paths more loosely. Rail sidings and haul roads add long curving lines that serve the industrial sites.
