Winding roads
The roads bend around the contours of the hills. They draw soft, curving lines across the map rather than straight streets at right angles.

关于地图
Katumba Map Poster & Print
Katumba lies in the highlands of the Mbeya region in south-western Tanzania, not far from the country's borders with Malawi and Zambia. It is hilly, well-watered country, and on a map the settlement appears as a loose network of roads following the ground, not a formal town grid.
The Rungwe area around Katumba is one of the greener parts of Tanzania. High rainfall and volcanic soil support tea, bananas, coffee and a wide range of smallholder farming. Paths and minor roads link scattered homesteads, and settlement spreads along the routes instead of gathering in one dense centre.
A Katumba map poster reflects this dispersed pattern. Lines curve along ridges and valleys, meet at small junctions and then fan out again across the slopes. There is plenty of empty space between the roads, and that gives the print an open, quiet character that is very different from a city plan.

Dispersed settlement
Homes and farms are spread along the routes instead of being packed into a single centre, which leaves wide open areas between the lines.
Highland setting
The settlement sits in the green uplands of southern Tanzania, where the lie of the land shapes where every path and road can go.

一张有意义的地图
This map is for people with family or memories in the southern highlands of Tanzania, or anyone who has worked or travelled in the Mbeya region. Its sparse, curving lines make a calm print for a bedroom or a study.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a village name, a family name or a date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
