Mine at the centre
The mining area takes up a large part of the town. Its buildings and open ground stand out clearly against the housing around it.

关于地图
Kipushi Map Poster & Print
Kipushi lies in the Haut-Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, southwest of Lubumbashi and very close to the border with Zambia. It is a mining town: its main deposit, rich in zinc and copper, has been worked since the colonial period and has recently been redeveloped. The mine site is a major feature of the map.
The town is laid out around its industrial centre. Planned residential streets built for mine workers sit near the mine buildings, and newer, less regular neighbourhoods spread outward over the gently rolling land of the Katanga plateau. The international border runs close by, and on a map it appears as a sharp line through open countryside.
A Kipushi map poster shows a town whose shape comes from its work. It includes the mine area, the grid of the older worker housing, and roads leading to Lubumbashi and the border. It is a plain, honest map of a place that many families in the Copperbelt region know well.

Planned housing
Near the mine, the older residential areas follow a regular layout. Newer districts farther out form a looser, more irregular pattern.
Border nearby
The frontier with Zambia runs only a short distance from the town and gives the map a distinctive edge on one side.

为什么选Kipushi
一张有意义的地图
For people who grew up in the mining settlements of Katanga, Kipushi is home, and for many it is part of a family's working history. A map of its streets preserves that connection in a simple form.
You can add a title, a subtitle with a name or date, and a coordinates line. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint works well for a place defined by mining and engineering.
