Regular colonial grid
Straight streets and rectangular blocks recall the planned layout of the Volga German colonies, giving the town centre a steady, even rhythm.

关于地图
Krasnoarmeysk Map Poster & Print
Krasnoarmeysk lies in Saratov Oblast, southwest of Saratov, on the right-bank side of the Volga. The town follows the small Karamysh River, and its streets form a fairly regular grid on gentle ground. Beyond the edge of town the map opens into steppe and farmland, with long straight roads and field boundaries crossing wide, empty spaces.
The town began in the eighteenth century as Balzer, one of the colonies founded by German settlers invited to the Volga region. It became a centre of textile weaving, known in particular for a striped cotton cloth called sarpinka. The German name was dropped in the twentieth century, but the orderly grid reflects that colonial origin.
A Krasnoarmeysk map poster shows a straightforward, rational town plan on flat terrain, with a river winding along one side. For families with Volga German roots, or for people who grew up here, it traces a place whose layout still carries the imprint of the settlers who founded it.

Karamysh River
The small river winds past the town in soft bends, the only natural curve against the straight lines of the streets and fields.
Open steppe
Wide fields and long rural roads surround the town, so the map shows a compact settlement set within a very open landscape.

为什么选Krasnoarmeysk
一张有意义的地图
Many descendants of Volga Germans now live far from the region, and a map of Balzer's streets can be a tangible link to family history. For local residents it is simply a clear, handsome picture of home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a historical name of the town or a date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
