Kuopio Map Poster & Print
Kuopio sits on a peninsula in Lake Kallavesi in eastern Finland, and on a map the water dominates. Inlets, islands and bridges surround the town. The centre is laid out as a regular grid of straight streets and square blocks, a clear piece of planning set against the irregular outline of the lake. Beyond it, residential areas spread along the shore and across neighbouring islands.
To the west of the grid rises Puijo, a forested hill with an observation tower. On a map its slopes are a quiet, open patch next to the tight street pattern. Near the northern tip of the peninsula, the Väinölänniemi park runs along the shore. The market square sits at the heart of the grid and anchors the town centre.
A Kuopio map poster suits a place so defined by its setting. The black lines of the streets meet an almost unbroken expanse of lake, and the shoreline splits into dozens of small points and bays. The bridges that carry roads across the water show as thin threads, linking the town to the islands and districts around it.

Lake Kallavesi
The lake wraps around the peninsula and breaks into islands, straits and long bays. Bridges and causeways cross it, and the water fills most of the frame around the town.
