Volcanic southern shore
The cones of Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro crowd the south side, bending the shoreline around their bases and leaving wide stretches with almost no roads.

关于地图
Lake Atitlán Map Poster & Print
Lake Atitlán fills a volcanic caldera in the Guatemalan highlands, and from above that origin is easy to read. The shoreline has no long straight runs. It swings through a series of deep bays and headlands, and the steep ground around it pushes roads into tight switchbacks that trace the contours down to the water.
Three volcanoes, Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro, rise along the southern shore, and on a map their slopes make the lake's outline bulge and pinch. Small towns sit where the land flattens enough to build. Panajachel spreads along the northern shore, and Santiago Atitlán and San Pedro La Laguna occupy inlets to the south and west.
A Lake Atitlán map poster keeps all of this in black and white: the pale body of water, the fine lines of lanes climbing out of each village, and the empty space where the volcanic slopes are too steep for streets. The lake is among the deepest in Central America, which fits a shape so enclosed by high ground.

Village street grids
Each lakeside town is a small cluster of lanes set in a bay, and the clusters are spaced around the water like separate islands of detail.
Switchback roads
The roads down from the caldera rim double back on themselves again and again, drawing tight zigzag lines that make the relief visible even without shading.

为什么选Lake Atitlán
一张有意义的地图
People hang Atitlán because they have slept in one of its villages, crossed the water on a morning launch or watched the volcanoes clear through the cloud. The map brings that circle of shore and slope back onto a wall, drawn plainly enough to sit alongside other work.
You can set your own title and subtitle, perhaps the name of a village or the date of a trip, and change the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and see a free watermarked preview before you buy.
