Le Valtin Map Poster & Print
Le Valtin is a village in the Vosges department of north-eastern France, set in the upper valley of the Meurthe close to the main Vosges ridge and the Col de la Schlucht. The territory is mostly forest and upland pasture, and on the map the village appears as a small cluster of buildings along the valley road, surrounded by broad slopes rendered as open space.
Unlike the Alpine resorts, Le Valtin belongs to the rounded, wooded mountains of the Vosges, where skiing is modest and cross-country and walking trails matter as much as lifts. The young Meurthe runs through the valley, and roads lead up toward the ridge, where the Route des Crêtes follows the high ground near the Col de la Schlucht.
