Minster and Stowe Pools
Two pools lie between the town centre and the cathedral close, forming smooth shapes of water that interrupt the street pattern and give the map a calm middle.

关于地图
Lichfield Map Poster & Print
Lichfield is a small cathedral city in Staffordshire, and its map shows a medieval street grid south of a pair of linked pools. Minster Pool and Stowe Pool lie just north of the centre, and beyond them stands the cathedral in its own close, the only medieval English cathedral with three spires.
The centre keeps its old layout of streets laid out in a loose grid around a market square. Samuel Johnson, the author of the famous dictionary, was born here, and his birthplace faces the market. Erasmus Darwin also lived in the city, in a house beside the cathedral close. Beyond the old core, ring roads and newer estates spread outward.
A Lichfield map poster places the water at its centre. The pools form two soft shapes between the town and the close, the grid sits to the south and the surrounding estates frame it. It is a quiet, well-composed city on paper, with a clear focus and plenty of structure around it.

The cathedral close
North of the pools, the cathedral stands in a walled close with its own quiet lanes. On the map it reads as a separate, self-contained precinct.
Medieval grid
The old centre follows a loose grid laid out in the Middle Ages, with the market square at its heart. The pattern remains clear among later development.

为什么选Lichfield
一张有意义的地图
Lichfield is a place people return to, for the cathedral, for the literary connections or simply because it was home. A map of the city keeps the pools, the close and the old streets together in a single frame.
You can add a title, a subtitle such as a wedding date or a street name, and a coordinates line. The poster comes in Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
