Limassol Map Poster & Print
Limassol extends for many kilometres along the southern coast of Cyprus, and its map is dominated by that shoreline. The city forms a long band between the sea and the foothills of the Troodos mountains. A seafront road and promenade follow the coast, while the old town and its narrow lanes cluster near the old harbour and the medieval castle.
To the southwest, the Akrotiri peninsula juts into the sea, holding a salt lake and a British sovereign base. To the east lie the ruins of ancient Amathus, and to the west, Kourion. Limassol is the island's main port and the centre of its wine trade, and its wine festival is held every autumn.
A Limassol map poster shows a city defined by the coast. The shoreline draws a long, clean curve, the old town adds a dense knot of streets, and the highway runs parallel inland. Framed more widely, the salt lake and the peninsula bring a strong natural shape to the western side.
