The Ohře river
The river curves along the edge of the old town, with bridges linking the two banks. Its bend defines the southern side of the historic centre and gives the map its main natural line.

关于地图
Louny Map Poster & Print
Louny lies on the Ohře river in northwest Bohemia, and its map still shows the shape of a medieval royal town. The historic centre is a compact oval on the river's right bank, with a regular pattern of streets around the square. Newer districts spread outward, and railway lines converge here, as Louny has long been a local junction.
The town's best-known building is the Church of St. Nicholas, a late Gothic work by Benedikt Rejt, with an unusual tent-like roof that is a local symbol. Stretches of the old walls survive, along with the Žatec Gate. Louny is also the birthplace of the poet Jaroslav Vrchlický.
A Louny map poster makes the contrast between old and new very clear. The tight, walled core sits beside the soft curve of the Ohře, while straighter suburban streets and rail tracks radiate beyond. To the north, the volcanic hills of the České středohoří rise just outside the frame, giving the town a distinctive setting.

Medieval town core
The old centre keeps its compact oval outline, traced by surviving wall sections and the Žatec Gate, with a regular street pattern leading to the main square.
Railway junction
Several lines meet at Louny, and their long, gentle curves cut across the outer districts, adding strong linear strokes to the map around the older core.
