关于地图
Lucera Map Poster & Print
Lucera rises on a low ridge at the edge of the Tavoliere delle Puglie, the wide agricultural plain of northern Apulia. From above, the historic centre forms a dense, rounded knot of narrow streets, while roads fan out in every direction across the flat farmland. To the west, set apart from the town, the outline of a vast fortress occupies its own hill.
The fortress walls, built under the Angevins around an earlier palace of Frederick II, enclose a remarkably large area. Frederick settled a Muslim community from Sicily here in the thirteenth century, a chapter that shaped the town for decades. Lucera also preserves a Roman amphitheatre from the Augustan period and a Gothic cathedral in the old centre.
A Lucera map poster places these layers side by side: the tight medieval core, the geometric footprint of the fortress and the oval of the Roman amphitheatre on the edge of town. It is a good choice for anyone with family from the province of Foggia, or for travellers who remember the view across the plain.

Roman amphitheatre
The oval of the Augustan amphitheatre lies at the town's edge, a clean ancient shape among modern streets and gardens and still easy to spot.
Tavoliere roads
Straight country roads radiate from the hilltop out across the flat Tavoliere plain, turning the town into the hub of a wide wheel.

为什么选Lucera
一张有意义的地图
Lucera suits anyone drawn to places where history is visible in plan. The fortress, the amphitheatre and the old streets each have a different geometry, and seeing them together on a wall is a reminder of how many eras the town has passed through.
