关于地图
Mackinac Island Map Poster & Print
Mackinac Island lies in Lake Huron near the Straits of Mackinac, where the lake meets Lake Michigan between Michigan's two peninsulas. It is compact and roughly oval, with a limestone plateau in the middle and steep bluffs above the shore. Most of the island is a state park crossed by wooded roads and trails.
Motor vehicles have been banned for more than a century, so people move by horse-drawn carriage, bicycle and on foot. The town sits along the southern harbour, with Main Street running parallel to the water below the white walls of Fort Mackinac. A road, M-185, circles the entire shoreline.
Above the town to the west stands the Grand Hotel, with its long front porch facing the straits. Natural features such as Arch Rock add to the island's reputation. A Mackinac Island map poster frames all of this in one tidy outline: harbour town, fort, bluffs and the ring road.

Fort Mackinac
The fort sits on the bluff directly above the town. On the map its position shows how the island's high ground overlooks the harbour and the straits beyond.
Shoreline road
M-185 circles the island along the water, a state highway where cars are not allowed. It traces a smooth loop around the whole outline on the poster.
