关于地图
Majene Map Poster & Print
Majene lies on the west coast of Sulawesi, facing the Makassar Strait. From above, the town follows the shoreline in a narrow band, with streets pressed between the sea and the hills that rise directly behind. The coastline forms the dominant shape, curving gently along the edge of the town.
The street layout is compact and shaped by the terrain, with a main road following the coast and smaller streets climbing inland. A Majene map poster captures this close relationship between land and sea, with the water rendered as a broad, calm field beside the dense town.
Majene is a centre of Mandar culture, known for its seafaring traditions and the sandeq, a fast traditional sailing boat. In 2021, the region was struck by a strong earthquake that affected Majene and neighbouring Mamuju.

Coastal road
A main road runs parallel to the shore, linking the town to settlements along the coast and forming the spine of the street network.
Inland hills
Hills rise close behind the town, limiting its spread inland and pushing the built-up area into a long, narrow shape along the water.
