Fishpond mosaic
Toward the bay, the city dissolves into a patchwork of rectangular fishponds and dikes, one of the most distinctive textures on any Philippine city map.

关于地图
Malolos Map Poster & Print
Malolos sits on the low coastal plain of Bulacan, just north of Manila, where the land gives way to tidal creeks and fishponds before it reaches Manila Bay. From above, the southern and western parts of the city look like a mosaic of rectangular ponds. Roads and rivers cut across them in loose curves, and the built-up districts grow denser toward the centre.
The city is the capital of Bulacan province and holds a special place in Philippine history. In 1898 the Malolos Congress met at Barasoain Church and drafted the Malolos Constitution, which founded the First Philippine Republic. The old town around the church and the cathedral still shows the tighter street pattern of a Spanish-era poblacion, in clear contrast to the open land around it.
A Malolos map poster brings out that contrast well. The small historic core is dense with short streets, and the wider arterial roads lead out toward neighbouring towns. At the edges the water takes over, with pond boundaries and channels drawing a pattern that looks almost textile-like in black and white.

Historic poblacion
The old centre around Barasoain Church and the cathedral keeps a compact grid of short streets, noticeably tighter than the newer districts that surround it.
Tidal waterways
Creeks and small rivers wind through the lowlands toward Manila Bay, adding soft curved lines that run against the straight edges of ponds and roads.

为什么选Malolos
一张有意义的地图
For many people, Malolos stands for Philippine independence, and for others it is simply home. A print of its streets and waterways makes a quiet reminder of either, whether it hangs in a family house in Bulacan or in an apartment much farther away.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example to mark a wedding at Barasoain or a year the family moved. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
