Mountain ring
High ground encloses the town on several sides, so the street network ends abruptly at the slopes and the map shows a clear boundary between settlement and hills.

关于地图
Man Map Poster & Print
Man lies in the far west of Ivory Coast, in a region locally known for its mountains, and the town is often described as the city of eighteen mountains. On a map its streets spread across the lower ground in an irregular, organic pattern, pressed in on several sides by high ground where the roads simply stop. The effect is of a settlement shaped by its landscape rather than by planning.
The best-known summit is the Dent de Man, a tooth-shaped peak that rises near the town, and a waterfall in the forest nearby is a regular stop for visitors. The Montagnes region is also the heart of Dan culture, well known for its masks and masked performances, so the town carries a strong regional identity.
A Man map poster works because the edges matter as much as the centre. The main roads leave the town along the few valleys that allow it, and the dense core gives way to open space where the slopes begin. In black and white that contrast between the busy valley floor and the empty uplands becomes the whole composition.

Valley roads
Regional roads leave the town along valleys between the peaks, appearing as a few strong lines radiating out from the dense centre toward the rest of the region.
Organic street pattern
The town's streets follow the ground rather than a grid, producing an irregular, hand-drawn quality that looks distinctive when printed at a large size.

为什么选Man
一张有意义的地图
Man is a place people remember for its setting, and a map of it brings that setting home: a town held in by mountains, with roads finding their way out. It makes a meaningful piece for anyone with roots in the Montagnes region or memories of travelling through the west.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or date, and the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
